How Quick Does A Week Go?

It feels faster than seven days, that's for sure!

I don't know if it's my house and garden taking up my time amongst the day to day routines of getting kids too/from school, and work, and the housework (I only do the bare minimal!), but here it is again, Thursday! Friday tomorrow - eek!

So, I have printed off my manuscript, The Wedding Favour, and it's Synopsis. I just need to fill in the forms and buy a jiffy envelope. (Forgot to do that this morning, dammit!). Then, I can send it off to the RNA New Writers' Scheme. Yay!

It will take some pressure off me trying to write and edit another novel by August, and the feedback I get back might be useful. Or will make me give up and throw in the towel! (No never! I'll write till I die!)

I have written a couple of short pieces which I do need to consider extending... or looking for a place to send. But at the moment, finding time for writing is proving really difficult.

However, my garden is coming along nicely, and if you've been following me on Facebook or Twitter you'll have seen the transformation. I will do a blog post shortly to show you it. But for now, it being Thursday, it means it's Shirtless Thursday...

Makes us wish summer would arrive and we can all hit the beach... if only it was filled with men looking like this!

Please Pretend It's Thursday...

I know that is going to be hard to do, because you're all in Friday mode. But yes, I know, I forgot. I forgot to post to Shirtless Thursday... but I had rather a lot on yesterday.

So here it is... courtesy of Pinterest because that's where I just grabbed it from!

Shall we caption this one, too?

In other news, I have managed to write a couple of pieces, about 500 words each. Some ideas, a scene floating in my head, or two. They've been inspired by my own quest to find 'love'. So I'm going to try and do that more and get myself writing again. Meanwhile I started printing off The Wedding Favour... then the printer ran out of ink, and the spare cartridge can't be found. I can only imagine it's in a box... in the garage.

Have a good weekend... if you can draw yourself away from the above picture.

Almost Sack-able Offence...

...forgetting that it's Thursday. Not only Thursday, but Shirtless Thursday.

From 11.45am today I have not stopped. Well, from 7am when I got up I haven't stopped really. I was supposed to do my ironing this evening, but I can't bear to stand up for any longer.

Anyway, perusing Pinterest I saw this:

Oh yeah... Hugh Jackman. Yummy yummy yummy.

By the way, I do requests... If you have a favourite shirtless request then let me know in the comments below. And I'm a poet and I don't know it.

Book Review: P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern

Yes, I know, it's been a very long time since I did a book review. This is the second book I have finished this year.... it is shameful!

P.S. I Love YouP.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book was given to me so it wasn't something I picked off the shelf myself.

Although I did like the writer's voice, because it felt modern and very 'today' (gives me hope as a fellow wannabe writer), some of the plot irked me. Or maybe it was some of the characters. Some felt stereotypical to suit the plot's needs. And some of the plot did feel predictable, though the ending surprised me nicely.

Obviously, I am not to judge, it's been made into a motion picture, which I would like to see, to view the director's interpretation. I did like the overall idea of this story.

I liked Holly, and I felt for her. She'd lost her husband and she was devastated. I did have a lump in my throat at times reading this book, and a tear, and it also made me laugh. But unfortunately there were parts of the plot I wasn't so sure about, hence it got three stars from me, rather than four.

Once again, I will say though, I did like the writer's voice.

Thursday Comes Around Quickly!

And of course I've started something with this Shirtless Thursday lark, and it's amazing how many 'silent' readers I do have that like to see this blog post happen. I was emailed (what will be yesterday) to remind me to do this, and as I'm out with my dad and the boys to Slimbridge, I thought I best get organised. (I'm going to schedule this post for Thursday morning - tomorrow). Gosh, is that a bit timey wimey stuff like in Doctor Who? I'm talking about tomorrow as Thursday, but it's today when you read this. Weird.

Bit like my dad says, you'll never get there, because when you're there you'll be here. Like you'll never reach tomorrow as it will always be today. I'm sure he says these things to get my eight-year-old thinking.

Anyway... while I'm here blogging, I might as well tell you some of my news... As I said, we're off to Slimbridge tomorrow, today, so camera is charged, and I've ordered a portable hard drive to store my photos because my PC is now rammed, and performing very slow. As recommended to me by my sister, I decided to buy a portable hard drive to store all my pictures on.

Right, back to Shirtless Thursday...

As to my 'silent' readers, please don't be afraid to leave a comment once in a while. It helps let me know my blog is actually being read.

Now this picture was on Pinterest (posted by the lovely Becky Black), which I'm becoming a real fan of. This shirtless cowboy photo deserves captioning, too... I'll let you leave them in the comments below.

I was supposed to start printing off The Wedding Favour tonight... and I have failed! Maybe I should get the Easter holidays out of the way first. And stop searching for shirtless photos...
