It's My Mum's Birthday!

I want to wish my mum a very happy birthday!

Although from the age of eleven I lived with my dad, (long story which I won't go into) my mum has always been there for me, and I can tell her anything. She really is my best friend. I always have her full support.

I certainly have some of her nuttiness and she's raised me to be strong and independent. You're generous, kind and thoughtful.

They say you can't choose your family, but I would choose you everytime to be my mum.

So, Happy Birthday, Mum!

I'm sorry I can't be with you on your special day to celebrate 76 years of being on this planet. I'll make it up to you the next time we get to catch up. (June.)

Thank you for also being a wonderful Nanny to Ben and Kieran.

Love Treesie x

(Your first born, who made you a mum, and your favourite ha ha! - inside joke with the siblings!)

6th Day of Birthday

On the sixth day of my birthday, I would like sent to me...

Henry Cavill

Oh, how I would love to meet Henry. He's played my favourite superhero and he comes across as just a really nice guy. Henry was also my inspiration behind Harry in Meet Me At Wisteria Cottage.  I would love to meet him. Probably go completely shy, for the first time ever, but even so...

3rd Day of Birthday

On the third day of my birthday, I would like sent to me...

Diamonds

Is it so wrong to want some diamond earrings?

I can't wear earrings anymore, well not cheap jewellery anyway. Gosh, and to think in my teens I wore all sorts of earrings! Now, it has to be real gold or silver, and even then, my ears may complain.

But who doesn't like diamonds?

A Mahooosive Twelve Today!

Happy 12th Birthday, Kieran!

This will be my last year of only having one Teenager in the house. Next year, it all changes, I'm a mum to teenagers. Not teenager.

Happy birthday to my funny, cuddly, footballing, Fortnite geek!

When you're good, you're brilliant. (When you're stubborn, we do clash!)

You help me around the house just by being organised and independent. When I can pull you away from the PlayStation, you're helpful ha ha!

I soon realised and appreciated how much you did when you broke your collar bone and became dependent on me again.

You do make me proud. But your true character shone recently with breaking your collar bone. You were determined to go into school the next day! You were incredibly brave, tolerated the pain and never complained. You really did just get on with it.

You have always been the comedian of the family, the giggler. Always keep that sense of humour!

Keep up the good work, you're growing into a great young man!

Happy 10th Birthday, Cheeky Monkey

I can't believe my youngest is now also into double figures!

Where did my baby go?

My mischievous, comical, cheeky yet helpful monkey has transformed into this:

Happy 10th birthday, Kieran! Keep your spirit, laughter and cheekiness - unless I'm telling you to do as you're told. Love you, even when cross x x x

Advent Calendar Day 4 - Happy Birthday Ben!

I had to save the 4th door for my eldest son, Benjamin.

He turned 11 today!

I have absolutely no idea where all the years have gone. And I still remember his birth as if it was yesterday (well, almost - there are bits I have chosen to forget).

Ben does make me proud! As all mums wish, I hope he turns into a loving, handsome, young man. I am trying my best. Having two sons, I tell myself I'm bringing up future husbands! I want my future daughter-in-laws to thank me.

Ben is my quietly confident son, who is quite sensible but has no fear - except of some vegetables. He is becoming a bit annoying at times... as he's verging on turning into a teenager and tends knows it all. This is when he frustrates me. However, he shares my great sense of humour and even my sarcasm.

We never used to put the Christmas decorations up until the middle of December in our family, usually because we had a real tree. However, since Ben came along, I've always let him celebrate his birthday first, allowing his cards to stay up for a week (which is how long I tend to allow birthday cards to stay up!) Once they come down, then the Christmas cards can go up and the tree and decorations.

I do feel for him, as he has to wait a whole year for presents to open on his birthday, and then a few weeks later it's Christmas. It's a bit of a nightmare when it comes to present hunting!  And the expense. I made sure I planned Kieran better ;-)

Do you have a family birthday in December? How do you make sure they get to celebrate their birthday, and not get it lost in the excitement of Christmas?

My favourite photo of us! Taken this summer in Bristol.
