And It's Publication Day

Today my 7th novel, The Neighbour on Post Office Lane was published!

This book has been over three years in the making. It's done rounds with publishers, even making some edits from their suggestions, and still no joy. (More of the post office was included.)

Coming from a traditionally published background, I had hoped to find the right publisher for this book. However, what a journey to self-publish. It has been rather satisfying, and a little addictive. And I'm still nervous there's a typo I've not spotted.

Yesterday marked 13 years as a published author with my debut novel Plus One is a Lucky Number. So a double celebration today really.

If you've read any of my books, I'm sure you'll love my warm, fun and flirty The Neighbour on Post Office Lane.

There's one hot mechanic and a thriller writer... Rosie needs to learn to slow down to the sleepy Somerset pace and Daryl needs to leave his past behind.

It's available in ebook and paperback, and is also free in Kindle Unlimited. Hardback coming soon...

Buy link for Amazon UK here! But it is available worldwide.

Can Beth learn to open her heart this Christmas…?

However, her focus soon wavers when she meets Tristan Trenouth, the handsome but aloof owner of the estate. Each wilful and outspoken, Beth and Tristan are soon clashing whenever they cross paths.

With the estate’s charity ball and Christmas fayre on the horizon, the two grudgingly put their differences aside and agree to work together. And as they spend more and more time in each other’s company, their uneasy truce blossoms into a strong mutual attraction.

But with a young son, a fledgling business and a painful past to contend with, Beth needs someone she can rely on. And Tristan has demons of his own to face…

Can Beth get her boutique up and running in time for Christmas? Will she and Tristan find happiness together?

Or will the shadows of the past drive them apart…?

Cocktails At Kittiwake Cove's Publication Day

Cocktails At Kittiwake Cove's publication day was on the 15th June 2021 and I hosted an open house to celebrate the day.

Cakes, scones, and of course cocktails... as well as lots of  lovely visitors.

It was such a fabulous day and the weather was fantastic! (Possibly a bit too warm at times, as guests fought for the shady parts of my garden).

Overall, throughout the course of the day, I had around twenty visitors calling in. I've realised I've not shared some of the photos on my blog, so here they are!

It wouldn't have been a great success without my friends, so thank you to all who were able to attend!

Cocktails At Kittiwake Cove is the first novel in a three book series published by Sapere Books. It's been fun to write and especially to research with cocktail and wine tasting experiences.

If you've not ordered your copy, you can do so here!

Ginger Ricky & Betsy

In the lead up to my publication day of Cocktails At Kittiwake Cove, I thought I would share some cocktail recipes.

Early on, whilst writing, I thought it would be fun to name each chapter after a cocktail. Over the next week, I'll be sharing recipes from chapter titles, and possibly some cocktails that ended up on the editing floor...

The following recipes have been taken from a cocktail book I was given as a gift; Drink Me Now 150 cocktails for any emergency.

These two made it into the book...

Ginger Ricky

4 x 2.5cm (1 inch) cubes pineapple

2 lime wedges

1 1/2 measures London dry gin

1/2 measure ginger juice (see tip)

1 teaspoon lime juice

ice cubes

3 1/2 measures ginger ale

pineapple wedge, to decorate

Muddle the pineapple and lime wedges in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add the gin and ginger and lime juices and shake well.

Strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes and top up with the ginger ale. Decorate with a pineapple wedge and serve.

***

Tip: to make ginger juice, peel a large piece of fresh root ginger and blitz in a blender or food processor. Strain the juice before use.

~

Betsy

2 measures gin or vodka

4 teaspoons lime juice

1 measure sugar syrup

2 strawberries, plus extra to decorate

1 sprig coriander

1 cup ice cubes

Put all the ingredients into a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.

Pour into 2 old-fashioned glasses, decorate each with a strawberry and serve.

***

Enjoy!

Remember Cocktails at Kittiwake Cove is out Tuesday 15th June!

Recluse Millionaire, Reluctant Bride – Extract 4
Chapter 1

# # #
"You’re not a prisoner here, Ms. Ryan," he said, tone cool.  "You’re an invited guest with whom I wish to discuss business.”
"Why didn't you call or e-mail or drop by my studio to discuss your... er...business?”
          “In a sense, I did.”
          “Stop talking in riddles.”
          He shrugged.
And that had her hackles rising.
"This charade is utter nonsense.”  She moved another few steps closer, the table a barrier between them.  “I don’t like being manhandled."
The deep sound of his laughter ricocheted off the walls.  "Heard it was the other way around."  He saluted her with his drink.
Stella shook her head, pointing her finger at him.  "Look here, I have   a business to run.  Right now, my students are at the dojo waiting for me.”
Stan set the empty glass on the gleaming countertop and rubbed his palms together.  "Took care of it.”
"I demand to be relea—” She gaped at him.  “What does that mean?" she
demanded.  "You know you could be arrested.”
          "My men—”
          “Thugs.”
“—left a memo at your studio explaining your absence."
          "Disappearance."
He shuttered his eyes to blue slits, considering her veiled warning.  "Ms. Ryan, I’m offering you my hospitality as my guest.”
“I’m not your guest.”  She tossed her head.  “And don’t need nor want anything from you.”
He hiked a brow, and she swallowed a lump in her throat.  Of course, he had control of her core asset and—
          "You’re on a publicity tour…Tokyo, Toronto…family demands,” he
explained, his words saturated with meaning.  “You’d be returning soon.”
“You dared to—” A tremor vibrated from her head to her toes, shivers
prancing on her spine.
He shrugged.  "A risk worth taking."
Stella paled, their one and only meeting zooming to the forefront of her mind.
"Something wrong, Ms. Ryan?"  Casually, he slid his hands in his pockets,
confident he’d cornered her.
Stella groped for the back of a chair, the wood smooth and hard beneath her fingertips.
Like the man—unbreakable.
"Do you often take such risks?" she tested, her voice brittle.
          "Occasion—"
"Why?"
          "High stakes."
"How lofty are they this time?"  She tightened her grip on the chair, her heart pounding a warning.
"Riskiest bet of my life," he admitted.
She wouldn’t be bridled.  “Must be, to ditch your life of the rich and
famous for that of a recluse.”
He laughed, a dark, ominous sound.  “It is.”  A shadow swept across
his eyes, and a nerve pinched his jaw.  He shrugged and didn’t elaborate.
Tenderness pierced through her frustration.  She must be mistaken, or nuts.  Nuts to feel anything but contempt for the ogre.  She shoved the pinch of feeling away.  She didn't care, couldn't care, refused to care.
"I don't play cat and mouse games, Mr. R."
          "You do remember."
The gray at his temples and his beard had thrown her at first.  His
electrifying blues and commanding tone, capped off with his baiting remarks, cued her a second time in as many hours, how well he knew the game of finance and how well he wielded the rules for his benefit.  Yes, she remembered him.  He was not a man she could easily forget or how ruthless he could be.
"How do I fit into your scheme of things this time?" Stella asked, her voice crackling with ice.
          "Predominantly."

Meet Me At Wisteria Cottage Paperback #Shelfie #Competition

Yesterday was the paperback publication day of Meet Me At Wisteria Cottage. Of course I had to pop into my local Sainsbury's to see if my book was there - as you do! I got my very own #shelfie.

I knew I should have put make-up on that morning!

My mum.
Anyway, as my friend and I snapped selfies/shelfies, and she kindly told two bewildered women what we were doing, and that I was the author of the book on the shelf, one asked if I'd sign a copy for her. Nothing like a bit of book signing on your publication day!

My mum found the book today in Andover, visiting my brother. Another friend has confirmed Epsom. And in Staines, my hometown :D

It's been great having friends post their #shelfies. The paperback is in 500 Sainsbury's stores. You may think I'm joking - I want to find them all! (With your help, of course).

Taken in Kidderminster by Morton S Gray

I thought I would run a competition to win a signed copy of Meet Me At Wisteria Cottage.

How to enter: Post your photos of your #shelfies (preferably with you in it) and tag me, either on Facebook or Twitter and I'll add you into my draw. I will include all those who have been posting so far. And please make sure I've seen it - nag me if you have to. I will like, comment or retweet.

Competition will close Friday 12th May (my mum's birthday).

Facebook: Teresa F Morgan page

Twitter: @Teresa_Morgan10

If you use Instagram, I'm the WitteringWoman but make sure you tag on FB or Twitter too.

Remember to tell me which Sainsbury's you're in, too!

(I'm half tempted to buy a map and stick pins in the areas to see who is the furthest from me lol!)

Please feel free to follow me on Twitter and Facebook.

Meet Me At Wisteria Cottage Publication Day

Today the ebook of Meet Me At Wisteria Cottage was published.

The paperback will be out 20th April 2017

Tuesday I received my first ever parcel of author copies. It was such a buzz, making me feel like a real author. (I know I am but I still have to pinch myself!) When the DHL driver knocked on my door, I thought I was taking in a parcel for my neighbours.

I am thrilled that the paperback will be going into selected Sainsbury's stores over the country as of 20th April, which is such exciting news. And I want to see those #Shelfies. Let's see how many stores we can find between us. Remember to tag me @Teresa_Morgan10 on Twitter, or Teresa F Morgan on Facebook.

I know this is only my third book, compared to other authors who are on their umpteenth, but I can tell you the elation that you've achieved something and the anxiety that everyone will hate it never goes away!

Meet Me At Wisteria Cottage is available at all good ebook sellers... but for now I will share the link to Amazon UK http://amzn.to/2kZkE2h and Amazon US: http://amzn.to/2jZ6CO7

About One Fine Day:

Just a boy standing in front of a girl…

Steve Mason has it all … gorgeous looks, the perfect starlet girlfriend hanging on his arm and his name on every Hollywood producer’s lips. That is, until it turns out the ‘perfect girl’ is actually a perfect PR stunt! Dumped and with his name plastered across every tabloid headline, Steve decides to head home to England, questioning if he’ll ever find a woman who genuinely loves him for who he is, and not just his place on the Sexiest Man Alive list.

It’s been fifteen long years since Ruby last saw her big brother but the new LA version of Steve complete with designer wardrobe, California tan and an American accent is too much to bear Ruby hardly recognises him and decides it’s time to get her brother back!

With Ruby’s help, Steve goes undercover as he plays the part of a regular guy who leads a regular life. And then one perfectly fine, ordinary day he meets lovely, funny, down-to-earth Lydia. But when Hollywood comes calling, will Steve be able to leave both Lydia and his little sister behind?

5 STAR AMAZON Review - "It was really refreshing to read something based around a male character for a change. It was a lovely, easy, warming read and left a smile on my face. I especially liked Ruby's character. Perfect kind of book if you want something light and happy to escape into!"

Steve Mason looks a little bit like Bradley Cooper if you're a bit of a fan...

Competition To Celebrate My Paperback Release

Yay! Happy Paperback Publication Day to me!

Plus One is a Lucky Number from today is now available in paperback too.

It was first published in eBook form 29th August 2013 and today I finally get to say I have a book out in paper. Does this make me a proper, bona fide author now? I can physically wave a paperback under peoples noses and say, "I wrote this!" If they really annoy me I can hit them with it... (joke!)

Sophie’s going to a wedding where the invite is strictly plus one… but with her single girl status not exactly fitting in with the bridesmaid dress code, and the best man being none other than the ex she would rather forget, Sophie needs a favour and she needs it fast!
As they take off to the sunny shores of Cornwall for the wedding weekend, it’s not long before pretence leads to passion and Sophie and Adam must decide; is their relationship real or is it all for show?

Luckily for Sophie, her dreamy but distant co-worker Adam Reid owes their mutual friend James big time…and his gorgeousness more than fills the role of the ‘Perfect Boyfriend’!

Lisa, Goodreads 5 star review: "Wow I loved this book! So much I was annoyed when it ended! I could have carried in reading about Sophie and Adam for days without getting bored."

Unfortunately I have to be at 'work work' today, but I have decided to run a little competition (I've never done one before so I hope this works) to give away one copy of my paperback of Plus One is a Lucky Number.

All you need to do is leave a comment below, and share this blog post. And after a week I'll get one of my son's to pull a name out of hat! Or a bowl... or something I can find to put names in...

Actually, I might need a runner up prize, as I have two boys and they might argue about pulling the name out of the hat, so I'll give away a £5 Amazon voucher as a second prize. (In the small hope you'll purchase my ebook, and other Harper Impulse titles :) or even put it towards the paperback...)

Okay! Post a comment below, making sure your name is available, and share this blog to help me celebrate the paperback release of Plus One Is A Lucky Number. You can do that anywhere, Facebook or Twitter, or Google+ but to enter you must leave your comments on this blog post!

You'll have to watch this blog for the announcement of the winner... (That'll be posted Thursday 15th May)
"Teresa F Morgan's writing style is brilliant, capturing realistic moments and really making a reader feel the words, I laughed, I cried. I got angry, and I loved this book!"

EBOOK BUY LINKS

If you would like alternative buy links, please go to the Harper Impulse page and navigate from there.

Competition closes Wednesday 14th May at 12 noon UK time (GMT).
